Our Story
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

In 2019, Steven’s love for nature grew to a head. He left his corporate job in pursuit of agriculture and his first taste of farming took place on Cave Creek Farm in 2020. The verdant landscape and days spent tending to the land inspired him to dive deeper into the field.
During the intermission of his time at CCF, Steven managed a 3-acre aquaponic farm and orchard in Southern California while obtaining an associate's degree in Sustainable Horticulture. Steven will continue his education at Oregon State beginning in Fall 2023.
As the agricultural lead, Steven is responsible for planning, planting, propagation, and harvest. Steven is dedicated to promoting sustainable farming practices that prioritize healthy soil, clean water, and thriving ecosystems.

My full expression is communicated through my food preparations and the connections cultivated through a shared dining experience. Detroit born and bred, my soul-spiced creations entice the palate; fold in a pinch of Portland inspiration, and I expose the nourishment of the land and sea. I specialize in curating vibrant, flavor-forward menus with a focus on specialty diets.
My interest in the wellness community grew stronger as a yoga instructor and early-childhood educator. I began preparing plant-based foods in my Portland home, giving cadence to a vibrant food company, Eatin’ Alive, in 2010.
Eatin’ Alive began as a one-woman, bike-powered, farmers market stand and quickly grew into a plant-based, grab-and-go foods wholesaler distributing goods to markets and grocery stores all over the Pacific Northwest.
In tandem with running Eatin’ Alive, I also launched my career as a destination caterer, personal chef, and functional nutritionist. Over the past ten years, I’ve hosted intimate dining experiences from beachside to mountain-top and helped individuals customize dietary lifestyles for each unique body and vision.
I sold Eatin’ Alive in August 2019 to focus on new and creative culinary dreams.
When I’m not in the kitchen, find me traveling and tasting my way through flavor-rich cultures, rock climbing, and running through the forest with my pup, Zucchini.

As a recent transplant to the Columbia Gorge, Jerica is constantly in awe by the magic of the flora, fauna, waterfalls and mountains that the Gorge offers. She realized the importance of food early, working in the Hospitality Industry to get her through college and eventually developing it into a career of unpretentious dinners with a fun foraging aspect. She adores pouring both local and global wines and developing delicious drinks inspired by the cycles of nature. She loves tying together how health and wellness are positively impacted by eating with the seasons and how we can help our planet by eating locally. Jerica is an avid forager and self taught medicine maker, currently diving deep into Ayurveda, an ancient Indian health science. She is looking forward to connecting the sweet community of Trout Lake and Cave Creek Farm, and how we can foster a better relationship to our food and the land which surrounds us. Jerica currently calls White Salmon home.
